Quite a few teams are pinning their hopes on new drivers that have come in for the current season. Here are the changes.
Lewis Hamilton moves to Mercedes
Sergio Pérez moves to McLaren Mercedes
Nico Hülkenberg moves to Sauber
Adrian Sutil comes in again for Sahara Force India
Charles Pic moves to Caterham
Esteban Gutiérrez debuts in F1 for Sauber
Valtteri Bottas debuts in F1 for Williams

Max Chilton debuts in F1 for Marussia
Jules Bianchi debuts in F1 for Marussia
Giedo van der Garde debuts in F1 for Caterham
Regulation Changes
These are the rules that have been altered or brought into effect for the 2013 racing season.
  1. With 22 cars competing, 6 get eliminated in Q1, 6 more in Q2, while the remaining ten have a shoot out for the top places on the grid.
  2. Due to safety issues, Drag Reduction System (DRS) will be included at 2 zones on every circuit.
  3. Cars need to be able to return to the pits on their own power during qualifying.
  4. Due to cost-cutting measures introduced, mid-season testing will not be allowed.
  5. All teams do not pay the same entry fee for the season. Teams that scored more points during the 2012 season pay more.
  6. Double DRS has been banned.
  7. 2013 will be the final season with the 2.4 liter V8 engine. Next year onward, F1 cars will run on the 1.6 liter turbocharged V6 engine.

Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel becomes the youngest F1 driver to win 4 consecutive world championships. He now also holds the record for most consecutive race wins (9), and most wins in a season (13). This season sees the end of the V-8 engine era. 2014 will be different, with new engine specifications, rules changed, and of course, the many changes in the team's drivers lineup. Stay tuned!
