We all have our favorite pick in movies we love to see again and again. Some of us prefer adventure, others prefer comedy, some are glued to romance and some only look for drama films. The last decade saw some great movies which were all perfect in some or the other way. Some movies were well written political dramas, some had pirates saving the sea with a little twist of romance involved in it, some had shown brutal war facts while others were just feel good movies. So how to create a list about the best movies of the decade out of so many choices? It is really simple. Of course start with your personal favorites, but never forget those films that made an impression. It doesn't matter if a film didn't cross $100M at the box office, but if it succeeded in providing you with a life changing experience, it is worth mentioning. There will Be Blood, 2007 Probably the best film of the decade and of Daniel Day-Lewis' career, There will be Blood ranks #1 for all the reasons. The story, the acting, the direction, the location, the music etc. etc. It is a story of a wicked man who hits an oil jackpot and how the money and glory turns him into a sadistic heartless maniac. This is a must-watch and an actual definition of what a real movie is like. The Dark Knight, 2008 Bow down to the direction of Christopher Nolan and amazing chemistry between Christian Bale and Heath Ledger. The best part from the Batman trilogy, The Dark Knight is a different experience altogether. In this chapter, Batman finally faces his arch rival, the evil and sadistic Joker. There is not a single aspect of the film which I am not thankful for and like millions of other I still wish Ledger was around to experience the appreciation of his brilliant performance. The Departed, 2006 Another great film from Martin Scorsese, The Departed is nothing short of a masterpiece. I really can't put a finger on any one good reason to watch this film, there are just too many. Nicholson, Damon, Wahlberg and DiCaprio have given splendid performances. This is one fine tale of cops and criminals that keeps you glued in front of the TV at all times. No Country for Old Men, 2007 The Coen brothers are known for making complex films and this one is no less. Adapted from the classic novel written Cormac McCarthy, No Country for Old Men is perhaps one of the best adapted screenplays that does complete justice to the book. Tommy Lee Jones and Josh Brolin have done a great job but it is Javier Bardem that really makes it timeless. The movie does get a little violent in the middle, hence it isn't suited for the faint-hearted. Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind, 2004 Once in a while there comes a romantic story where the boy and girl do much more than running around and falling in love. Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind is brilliant complicated movie that demands your full attention. I won't give out any details about this one, you need to see it. This is also one of the few films that show Carrey in a totally different avatar.
