Triazolam is a drug that induces sleep and is used in the treatment of insomnia. Insomnia is an umbrella term for problems related to inability to sleep (sleep deprivation). Insomnia may be characterized by difficulty in falling asleep, frequently waking up, early awakening, etc. The drug is a benzodiazepine, which works as a sedative. It may also cause birth defects, and it's classified by the FDA under Pregnancy Category X. People may also develop an allergic reaction after consumption of this drug, which may include vomiting, nausea, itching, difficulty in breathing, and hives. People affected by asthma, bronchitis, glaucoma, kidney disease, or liver disease should consult with a doctor, before taking such a strong drug. It is also not recommended for people with a history of addictions such as drug and alcohol, as they could become dependent on such substances easily.
