How to Make Cake Pops
They taste wonderful and leave me speechless every time I eat them. Learn this interesting confectionery skill; to make delicious cake pops, in this article.
- 1 box of cake mix
- 1 tub frosting
- 1 packet candy coating (white or chocolate)
- Sprinkles
- Lollipop sticks
- Styrofoam (to place the cake pops in)
- Butter paper
- Other decorating material like colored ribbons, beads, etc., if you wish to decorate them further.
- Bake the cake as directed on the cake mix box.
- Once the baked cake cools down break it into fine pieces in a large bowl. See that you process it to absolutely fine crumbs.
- Now, mix ¾ of the frosting tub in the bowl. Knead the mixture until it forms a soft dough.
- Scoop out a small quantity of dough just enough to roll it into golf size balls.
- Place this balls on a plate covered with butter paper to prevent it from sticking the plate.
- Refrigerate them for an hour or until these cake balls hold their shape.
- Now, melt the chocolate as per instructions on the packet. Dip the tip of the lollipop stick into the melted chocolate and insert it into the cake balls, place them aside to harden, so that the lollipop sticks hold the cake balls properly.
- Once this is done, dip these pops into the melted chocolate, be carefully while you do this. Dip until the entire pop is covered as this will ensure a smooth layer.
- Immediately dust them with sprinkles and place them in the Styrofoam block to harden.
- Once the chocolate sets in, it's time to gorge on these delightful cake pops!
- Bake the cake a day before you start making cake pops, so that it cools down properly.
- You can use colored candy coating. They not only come in white and brown, but all different colors.
- Dip the pops completely and carefully into the melted chocolate to have a smooth layer.
- The cake pops look just as cute even without the lollipop sticks, like in the picture above.
