Easy Stuffing Recipes

Stuffing usually includes onions, peppers, tomatoes, potatoes, and sometimes, minced meat. Making a good, delicious stuffing for poultry or pork, can prove to be quite simple, if you follow these recipes.

Stuffing pork or poultry is a delicacy in many countries. A stuffed turkey, an integral part of Thanksgiving, is one of the best meals that celebrators enjoy eating. Stuffing a full turkey with vegetables, spices, breadcrumbs, etc., is the traditional way of preparing this dish. You can experiment with the ingredients and make a wonderful variety of stuffing. Basic Stuffing Ingredients
  • 3 cups dried bread cubes
  • 1 medium-sized onion, chopped
  • ¼ cup chicken broth
  • ¼ cup chopped celery
  • ¼ cup butter
  • ¼ teaspoon freshly ground pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground sage
  • Salt to taste
Preparation In a pan, melt the butter and sauté the chopped onion and celery till they turn tender. Add the bread cubes, garlic salt, chicken broth, pepper, and sage, to the pan, and stir. Season with the salt and use it as a stuffing for turkey or chicken. Mushroom Stuffing Ingredients
  • 1 medium-sized onion, diced
  • 10 slices whole-wheat bread
  • 6 large mushrooms, chopped
  • ½ cup butter
  • 1 tablespoon poultry seasoning
  • ¼ cup chopped celery
  • ¼ cup water
  • Salt to taste
Preparation In a saucepan, melt the butter, and add the onion, mushrooms, and celery, to it; let them cook till they turn tender. Remove the pan from the heat and when the mixture cools, add the water to it and mix it up. In a separate pan, toast the bread slices and cut them into small pieces. Transfer these to a baking bowl, add the poultry seasoning to it along with the mushroom mixture, and stir. Bake the final mixture in a 350 ºC preheated oven for about 25 minutes.   • 10 slices toasted bread, cut into cubes
  • 6 ounces cornbread mix
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 medium-sized onion, finely chopped
  • 1 cup water
  • ¼ cup chopped celery (optional)
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 can mushroom soup
  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground pepper
  • Salt to taste
Preparation In a large bowl, mix all the ingredients together to form a batter. Transfer this batter to a baking casserole dish and cook it in a 175 ºC preheated oven for about 30 minutes. You can use this stuffing for chicken, as well. Bell Pepper Stuffing Ingredients
  • 6 large bell peppers
  • 1 medium-sized onion, diced
  • 1½ pounds minced beef
  • 4 servings cooked rice
  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground pepper
  • 1 cup water
  • Salt to taste
Preparation In a large saucepan, add the beef, onion, and pepper, and let them cook till the beef turns brown. Add the rice, water, and tomato sauce to the pan, and wait for about 5 minutes till the liquid starts to simmer. In a separate pan, boil the bell peppers in some water for about 10 minutes. Stuff the beef mixture in the peppers and bake them in an oven at 175 ºC for about 30 minutes. Cabbage Stuffing Ingredients
  • 1 large green cabbage
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1½ pounds minced beef
  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground pepper
  • ½ cup tomato juice
  • Salt to taste
Preparation In a large saucepan, boil the cabbage for about 15 minutes, until the leaves are slightly cooked. Separate the leaves from the core. In a skillet, mix the minced beef, tomato sauce, and rice, together, and let them cook until the meat turns light brown. Pour the tomato juice into the pan, and stir. Spread this mixture over the cabbage and cook it in an oven at 150 ºC for about 15 minutes.
