A princess cake for a little girl's birthday party sounds like an excellent idea. Whether it's for your younger sister, daughter, cousin, or a friend, you can easily surprise her with a cake baked specially for the "princess". The following recipes will provide you with tons of different ideas and creative insights. Princess Cinderella Cake Ingredients
  • Round cakes, pre-baked, 9", 2
  • Dome-shaped cake (baked in a 2½ quart bowl), 1
  • White frosting, 4 cups
  • Gel icing
  • Blue food coloring (for Cinderella's gown)
  • Cake doll (from your local store)
Procedure Take the two 9 in round cakes and the dome cake, and place them on top of each other on a plate. Place the dome cake down and apply a little bit of frosting on all the cakes. To firm the frosting, keep it in the refrigerator to chill. Now add few drops (or more, depending on what color you're looking for) of blue food coloring in the remaining frosting. Bring the cake out and spread the colored frosting over the top ⅔ portion of the skirt. The gel icing you just bought will go as a decoration over the skirt. You can buy different colors to pipe it on the skirt. Take the cake doll and press it down in the middle of the cake. Apply frosting on the rest of her body as you design her gown. The cake is ready to be served. Princess Aurora Cake Ingredients
  • Bundt cake (flavor your choice), 1
  • Cake doll
  • Frosting, enough for 1½ cakes
  • Decorating icing
  • Candy or sprinkles
  • Pink food coloring (for Aurora's dress)
Take a plate and place the bundt cake on it. Apply a thin layer of frosting to cover the cake and a little bit inside as well. This technique will keep the doll in place. To firm the frosting, keep it in the refrigerator to chill. Now add few drops (or more, depending on what color you're looking for) of yellow food coloring in the remaining frosting. Bring the cake out and spread the colored frosting over the top ⅔ portion of the skirt. Take the cake doll and press it down in the middle of the cake. Apply frosting on the rest of her body as you design her gown. Take the decorating icing and cover the doll's bodice. You can also make ruffles, bows, flowers, and ribbons all over her gown. Add sprinkles in the end to complete the cake. Castle Cake Ingredients
  • Square-shaped cakes, 2
  • Round-shaped cake, 1
  • Ice cream cones
  • Decorating icing
  • Candies, sparkling sugar and sprinkles
Procedure Place the square shaped cakes on a plate. You will choose two different colors for your castle. Divide the frosting and add food colors to it. First only apply frosting over the top part of the bottom cake and then place the other cake over it. Apply frosting there as well, but only on the sides. The round shaped cake should be 7 inches in size. Keep it over the 2 frosted cakes. Add more frosting over all the three cakes. The second food coloring will be applied to the ice cream cones. You can decorate the castle with candies, sparkling sugar, and sprinkles. Place the cones on all four sides to resemble the towers around the castle. You can also place a frosted graham cracker and place it on the castle to look like a drawbridge. Place the candles right on top of the cake, it will illuminate the entire cake. When you're out shopping for various party food and other supplies, drop by at some local bakery stores and look for their collection of cakes. Perhaps it can inspire you and give you creative ideas to make one for your little angel.
