Irish Drink Recipes
The traditional food and drink preferences of the Irish are unique to their geographical setting. Their drink recipes are popularly tempered with or tasted 'as is' across the globe.
- Irish Coffee, 4 cups
- Refined Sugar, ¼ cup
- Whipping Cream, 1 cup
- Flavored Cream, 1 cup
- Mix the strong Irish coffee and sugar in a decanter.
- Heat on a slow flame and gently fold in the whipping cream.
- Ensure that the concoction remains light.
- Pour the coffee into goblets and layer it with a flavored cream of your choice.
- Lemon Juice, ½ tsp.
- Powdered Sugar, 1 tsp.
- Fresh Peach Juice, 1 cup
- Raspberries or Strawberries, to garnish
- Put crushed ice in a punch glass.
- Mix all the ingredients well, except the garnish.
- Shake the mixture well and strain it onto the crushed ice.
- Use the fresh raspberries or strawberries as garnish.
- Lime Juice, 1 oz.
- Pomegranate Syrup, 1 oz.
- Ginger Ale, 6 oz.
- Whiskey, 1½ oz. (of your choice)
- First fill a glass with either crushed ice or ice cubes.
- Pre-mix and pour in all the ingredients, except ginger ale.
- Top the drink with ginger ale and do not mix.
- Allow the sunset hue to settle at the bottom and fade towards the lip.
- Any Orange-flavored Liqueur, ½ tsp.
- Anise-flavored Liqueur, ½ tsp.
- Maraschino, ¼ tsp.
- Irish Whiskey, 2 oz.
- Olives, for garnish
- Dash of Bitters
- Fill a cocktail glass with crushed ice.
- Pre-mix all the ingredients, except olives, and strain the mixture onto the crushed ice.
- Serve each cocktail with an olive.
- Any liqueur of your choice, 1½ oz.
- Pure Irish Cream Liqueur, ¾ oz.
- Fill a cocktail glass with crushed ice.
- Mix the ingredients and pour it over the crushed ice.
- Use a cocktail shaker to mix the ice and two liqueurs.
- Oysters, 4 (with juices reserved)
- Butter, 1 tbsp.
- White Vinegar, 4 tbsp.
- Chives, 1 tbsp. (chopped)
- Lemon Juice, 2 tbsp.
- Parsley Leaves, 1 tbsp. (chopped)
- Salt, to taste
- Sprinkle salt on the oysters and keep it in the refrigerator, after separating the juices.
- Melt butter and add vinegar, lemon juice, chives, and the juices of the oysters.
- Pour the sauce over the oysters and grill them for 2 minutes.
- Garnish it with chopped parsley.
- Chicken Liver, 1 cup
- Onion, 1 (chopped)
- Garlic Cloves, 3 (crushed)
- Fresh Cream, 1 tbsp.
- Tomato Puree, 2 tbsp.
- Pure Irish Whiskey, ¼ cup
- Parsley, for garnish (chopped)
- Salt and Pepper, to taste
- Crackers, as accompaniment
- Sauté the onion and garlic in the melted butter, until they become transparent.
- Add chicken liver and stir fry the mixture for 5 minutes.
- Switch off the heat and put in the remaining ingredients, except the garnish.
- Put the mixture into a blender and process.
- Pour it out into a casserole and garnish it with chopped parsley.
- Serve with crackers or toast.
