German Appetizer Recipes
Even though German appetizer recipes may seem overwhelmingly tedious by the sound of it, these cuisines are in fact quite easy to prepare and absolutely delectable.
- Peanut oil, one cup
- Pork sausage, 3 pounds
- Chopped onions, 1 cup
- Drained, chopped sauerkraut, 4 pounds
- Dry bread crumbs,1/2 cup plain
- Neufchatel cheese, 2- 8 oz packages
- Parsley, 3 tablespoons
- Dry mustard, 2 teaspoon
- Garlic powder, 1 teaspoon
- Tony chachere's creole seasoning,1 teaspoon
- Flour, 1 cup
- Skim milk, 1 cup
- Black pepper to taste
- Flour, 2 1/2 cups
- Bread crumbs, 2 1/2 cups
- 4 eggs beaten with a 2 tbs. water
- In a skillet brown the sausages and the onions and drain out the oil.
- Next add all the ingredients and stir the mixture well. It has to form a lump of meat.
- Once cooked, remove and refrigerate it, until it cools down.
- Then, make small balls out of the meat lump.
- Place them in the flour and apply a coat of beaten up eggs. Coat these with bread crumbs and then fry them until they turn brown.
- Once you are done with frying, remove then onto a tissue paper so that the oil is soaked out.
- Finally, serve this party appetizer with some cold mayonnaise dip to cool the piping hot dish.
- Apples, peeled, cored and chopped into chunks -- 3 or 4 pounds
- Water, 1 cup
- Sugar, 3/4 cup, or to taste
- Lemon juice, 1 tablespoon
- Cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt, 1/4 teaspoon
- Mix all the ingredients in one pan and bring them to boil till the apples begin to fall apart. Keep the mixture on simmer to prevent it from burning.
- Once done remove it from heat and allow the mixture to reach room temperature.
- Then put it in a masher and blend it well for a smooth effect.
- You can serve this sauce with crackers, waffles and hot bread as an appetizer.
- Shredded cabbage, red or green, 1 bowl
- Chopped red bell pepper, 1/2 a cup
- Chopped celery, 2 stalks
- Vanilla soy yogurt, 1/2 cup
- Lime juice, 1/2 tablespoons
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Mix all the vegetables together in one bowl.
- Add the remaining ingredients in another bowl and mix them together. All the ingredients must be blended with yogurt.
- Next add the yogurt mixture to the veggies and mix it well.
- Pour out this coleslaw in plates and serve it with bread.
- Hard-boiled eggs, 6
- Mayonnaise, 2 tablespoons
- Dijon mustard, 2 teaspoons
- Paprika, to garnish
- Salt and pepper to season
- Cut the boiled eggs into exact halves and remove the yolks from them.
- Mix the yolks, mayonnaise, mustard, salt and pepper and mash them well. Whisk them vigorously so that they make a creamy mixture.
- Scoop out this mixture into a perfect ball and gently place it in the hollow cavity of the whites.
- Garnish them with herbs and serve them chilled.
