Cold coffee is a favorite beverage for kids as well as adults. Here are some simple recipes for making this drink at home.

A hot coffee may not sound as tempting as a cold coffee, during a hot, sunny afternoon. Rather than going out to have a cup of cold coffee, you can prepare it at home. It is very easy to prepare this beverage, if you know the right methods. We all know that there are different variants of coffee, as a beverage. Both cold and hot coffee drinks are equally popular. In case of the cold variant of coffee, the terms 'iced coffee' and 'cold coffee' are often used interchangeably. Initially, iced coffee denoted hot-brewed coffee, that was served cold. Later, cold-brewing of coffee was introduced. Now, most of the popular hot coffee types are available in cold forms. Likewise, cold coffee used to refer to the cold versions of coffee made with milk. This drink is very popular in many countries, like India and Australia. Many other ingredients are added to enhance its flavor and texture. They include ice cream, syrups, vanilla extract, and cocoa powder. Recipe I Ingredients
  • Milk - 3 cups
  • Instant coffee powder - 4 tbsp.
  • Sugar - 2 tbsp.
  • Hot water - 2 tbsp.
  • Vanilla ice cream - for topping

Dissolve the sugar and coffee in hot water. Add the milk and ice cubes, and mix the ingredients in a blender. Pour the mixture into glasses, and serve with ice cream topping. You may also sprinkle some instant coffee powder or grated chocolate for garnishing. Some people like to blend the ice cream along with the milk, rather than using it as a topping.   • Heavy whipping cream - ¼ cup
  • Instant coffee powder - 2 tbsp.
  • Vanilla extract - 1 tsp.
  • Sugar - 2 tbsp.

Blend all the ingredients in a blender, except the ice cubes. Add ice cubes just before serving. This recipe yields three glasses of rich, creamy cold coffee. You may use toppings, like chocolate syrup or shavings. Another easy way is to blend full cream milk, sugar, and instant coffee powder for a few minutes. You may also use filter coffee to prepare cold coffee. In that case, add one tablespoon of filter coffee to two teaspoons of hot water, and one teaspoon sugar. Blend with 100 ml of chilled milk. Serve with ice cubes. In case of iced coffee, hot-brewed coffee is allowed to get cool, and is served with or without chilled milk and sugar. Even freshly brewed coffee is blended with milk and sugar and refrigerated to prepare iced coffee. So, both iced coffee and cold coffee are said to be different. These recipes are very easy to prepare, with least efforts. You may also experiment with different ingredients, and come up with some unique cold coffee recipes.
