Appear Unhygienic
Let me put it in simple English - it is a deal-breaker. Poor hygiene is not just a big NO for men, but also for women. Ensure that you have a fresh breath and also look great before you meet each other. Also, make sure that all your nails are trim and carry a decent color. This helps if you are wearing open-toe shoes. Body odor is another important aspect that can't be ignored. Take a bath and do apply a perfume or deodorant, before stepping out. It has been observed that most men who aren't happy after their dates, complain about body odor and bad breath.
Discuss Exes
Again a big turn-off, don't talk about past affairs or how good or bad your recent ex-boyfriend or spouse was. Of course, the topic of past relationships is bound to come up, but it is better to keep it short and brief, and better still, for a later date. Otherwise, he would be searching for the emergency exit. Have a casual tone while discussing your ex. Any aggressiveness in tone or behavior indicates strong feelings for the ex, and is enough to hurt your date's fragile ego.

It is no secret that women love planning their future. However, discussing your desire of having a perfect home, partner and kids, is certainly too overwhelming for a man on a first date. Contrary to what people assume, not all men are commitment-phobic. They just don't want their lives decided by someone else, and hence, women who are too anxious or worried about their future come across as a big turn-off. Take it slow on the first meeting, let him know that you are looking for a relationship, but wait for at least 5 to 6 weeks before sharing your future vision with him.

Remember that this is a date and not an interview. Take it slow and easy, and try to enjoy each and every minute you spend together. Even if you've already started liking him, take one step at a time. Don't ask too many questions, and stay away from private affairs, as it is a first date.
