A long day at work or just an off day?? Well there's nothing quite like an animated film to get you smiling. Here's a look at some of the best animated films out there, and some quotes from them to get you laughing.

These days animated movies no longer cater to just kids, its audience now includes people across all age groups. Every one can do with a laugh every now and then, and there are few things that would tickle you as much as a sweet little animated flick. Here's a quick look at some of the most entertaining animated films of all times, and some from them to get you smiling, and at times even inspire you. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937) A very popular animated movie based upon the fairy tale written by Brothers Grimm. It was the first animated movie produced by Walt Disney that was presented in full color. Being the first full animated feature of its kind, the movie wowed the audience with its use of beautiful paintings and the lovely background music to complement it. One of the greatest classic animated films of all time, this is an absolute treat to watch. - Classic Lines Grumpy: Angel, ha! She's a female! And all females is poison! They're full of wicked wiles! Bashful: What are wicked wiles? Grumpy: I don't know, but I'm agin' 'em. Pinocchio (1940) One of the all time classics, Pinocchio was the second full length animated movies by Walt Disney. It tells the tale of a wooden puppet, Pinocchio, made by the wood-carver Geppetto, to fill in the void in his life. Pinocchio is brought to life by a blue fairy, much to the delight of Geppetto, who treats him like his son. The beautiful illustration moves on to portray the twists and turns along Pinocchio's journey, as he is transformed into a real boy as a reward for being truthful and brave. This simple, yet captivating film is definitely one for the all time classic collection. - Classic Lines Jiminy Cricket: You buttered your bread. Now sleep in it! What's Opera, Doc? (1957) Featuring the ever popular and loved Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd, this is a comic take on an opera. Directed by Chuck Jones, for Warner Bros. Cartoons, this is one of the most memorable and loved cartoons of all time. - Classic Lines Bugs: O mighty warrior of great fighting stock / Might I inquire to ask, ehh, what's up Doc? Sleeping Beauty (1959) The tale of Sleeping Beauty needs no introduction. This is a lovely adaption by Walt Disney of the fairy tale "La Belle au bois dormant" by Charles Perrault. The simplicity of its presentation, attention to minute details in animation, along with a lovely background score, makes this a must watch for every little kid. - Classic Lines Merryweather: It looks awful. Flora: That's because it's on you, dear. The Jungle Book (1967) A classic animated adaptation of Rudyard Kipling's book, The Jungle Book was an instant hit amongst the kids. It talks of the many adventures of Mowgli, the jungle boy, as he is taken by his friends Bagheera, the black panther, and Baloo, the jovial bear, to be amongst people of his kind. - Classic Lines Mowgli: Oh, Baloo, I wanna stay with you. Baloo: Certainly, you do. Bagheera: Oh? And just how do you think he will survive? Baloo: "How do you think he will... " What do you mean how do you think he... He's with me, ain't he? And I'll learn him all I know. Bagheera: Oh? That shouldn't take too long. Tale of Tales (Skazka Skazok) (1979) A critically acclaimed Soviet animated movie that received the title of greatest animated film of all time, Tale of Tales is a short animated film, with the music of Mozart and other greats. The film talks about the effects of war on the Soviet Union, through a series of sequences that eventually link up. The little gray wolf was one of the most memorable characters in the movie. This was one of the first animated films which was loosely based on real incidents. Beauty and the Beast (1991) The first ever animated film to be nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture, was a huge commercial success for Walt Disney. This is the story of a beast (Robby Benson), who is actually an enchanted prince and a beautiful maiden, Belle (Paige O'Hara), and how her love changes the beast back to being a handsome prince. The movie also saw the use of the first ever 3D computer animated backgrounds for a small part of the movie. It was later re-released in 3D in 2012. - Classic Lines Gaston: If I didn't know better, I'd think you had *feelings* for this monster. Belle: He's no monster, Gaston, *you* are! Aladdin (1993) From the studios of Walt Disney, comes a magical romantic tale, Aladdin. It's the adventures of a moonlighter, Aladdin (Scott Weinger), who with the help of his friends, the cute yet powerful blue Genie (Robin Williams), an adorable monkey, Abu, and a magic flying carpet with a personality, as he wins over his love, the beautiful Princess Jasmine (Linda Larkin). The colorful movie has a very good background score and has some memorable songs like A whole new world. The movie also features the Sultan of Agrabah (Douglas Seale), the wicked vazir, Jafar (Jonathan Freeman), and the annoying parrot Iago (Gilbert Gottfried), amongst others. This has been amongst Disney's most successful animated films ever. - Classic Lines Aladdin: Princess Jasmine, you're very... Genie: Wonderful! Magnificent! Glorious!... Punctual! Aladdin: Punctual! Princess Jasmine: Punctual? Genie: Sorry. Aladdin: Uh... uh... beautiful! Genie: Nice recovery. The Lion King (1994) The Lion King is touted to be one of the best movies ever, thanks to its fantastic music, a great story line, almost perfect artists for the characters, and some breathtaking visuals. It talks about the story of a young lion Simba (Jonathan Taylor Thomas/ Matthew Broderick), and his journey to becoming the king of the jungle. After fleeing from the jungle out of the guilt infused in him by his wicked uncle Scar (Jeremy Irons) about killing his father, the king, Mufasa (James Earl Jones), Simba finds his way back to his kingdom and reclaims his throne. This is a beautiful tale about friendship, love and courage. - Classic Lines Timon: Gee. He looks blue. Pumbaa: I'd say brownish-gold. Timon: No, no, no. I mean he's depressed. Pumbaa: Oh. Toy Story (1995) Toy Story is the first amongst many movies made together by the two giants of the film industry, Disney and Pixar. It's the story of a little boy's toys, Woody (Tom Hanks) and Buzz Lightyear (Tim Allen), and how they find their way back to the kid, after Woody tries to get rid of Buzz. The film was distributed by Walt Disney Pictures and has won eight Annie Awards, including the Best Animated Feature, and set the benchmark for all animated movies to follow. - Classic Lines Buzz: I've set my laser from stun to kill. Woody: Oh, great. If anyone attacks we can blink em' to death. Tarzan (1999) This is the story of Tarzan, an ape-man, who was raised by a gorilla Kala (Glenn Close), and how he comes to realize that he is a human, when he comes across Jane (Minnie Driver), who comes to the jungle as part of an expedition. The twists and turns in the story as Tarzan is torn between his home, the jungle, and his love Jane, are beautifully portrayed by the fantastic imagery and illustrations used. Another one of the classics and definitely a must watch for every Disney fan. - Classic Lines (Tarzan sneaks up behind her to try and scare her) Kala: Don't even think about it. Tarzan: How'd you know it was me? Kala: I'm your mother. I know everything. Now, where have you been? Tarzan: I thought you knew everything. Shrek (2001) This the story of Shrek, an ogre, who sets out to rescue the princess from the tower in order to get back his beloved swamp. He finds a trusty friend in a donkey, who keeps him 'entertained' all along the journey. Some real lovely characters in Shrek (Mike Myers), the beautiful Princess Fiona (Cameron Diaz), the wacky donkey (Eddie Murphy), and the scheming Lord Farquaad (John Lithgow), along with some memorable characters like Pinocchio and the Gingerbread Man, make this a very entertaining film for both young and old alike. - Classic Lines Captain of Guards: (as Donkey flies through the air on pixie dust) He can talk! Donkey: That's right, fool! Now I'm a flying talking donkey! You might have seen a housefly, maybe even a superfly, but I bet you ain't never seen a donkeyfly! Ha, ha! (pixie dust wears off) Donkey: Uh-oh! Monsters, Inc. (2001) Monsters, Inc. talks about James P. "Sulley" Sullivan (John Goodman), who is the top employee at a company, which generates power for the city by scaring kids. Sulley and his little friend Mike Wazowski (Billy Crystal) had a perfect life, till a cute lil kid Boo, comes by and turns their world upside down. - Classic Lines Sulley: Hey, did you lose weight, or a limb? Ice Age (2002) This hugely successful movie is about an odd pack of an edgy mammoth who's the leader, Manfred (Ray Romano), a clumsy yet lovable sloth, Sid (John Leguizamo) and a saber tooth tiger with a hidden agenda but a good heart, Diego (Denis Leary). The story revolves around how the three of them team up to get a lost human child back to its family. A total laugh riot and for all the family, Ice Age is a must watch! - Classic Lines Manny: I'm not fat. It's all this fur. It makes me look... poofy. Sid: Fine. You have fat hair. But when you're ready to talk, I'm here. Finding Nemo (2003) Finding Nemo is a beautiful tale of a clown fish Marlin (Albert Brooks) and his many adventures along the way as he meets Dory (Ellen DeGeneres), a forgetful blue tang fish, who helps him find his way to bring back his son Nemo (Alexander Gould). - Classic Lines Dory: I shall call him Squishy and he shall be mine and he shall be my Squishy. Come on, Squishy Come on, little Squishy. (baby talk, the jellyfish stings her) Dory: Ow. Bad Squishy, bad Squishy. The Incredibles (2004) The Incredibles is the story of a family of super heroes, who come together to save each other and the city from destruction. The characters, Bob Parr - Mr. Incredible (Craig T. Nelson), his wife, Helen Parr - Elastigirl (Holly Hunter), and their three kids, Violet, Dash and Jack-Jack, with unique superpowers of their own, are absolutely adorable. - Classic Lines Mr. Incredible: No matter how many times you save the world, it always manages to get back in jeopardy again. Sometimes I just want it to stay saved! You know, for a little bit? I feel like the maid; I just cleaned up this mess! Can we keep it clean for... for ten minutes! Madagascar (2005) Alex the Lion (Ben Stiller), his best friends Marty the Zebra (Chris Rock), Gloria the Hippo (Jada Pinkett Smith) and Melman the Giraffe (David Schwimmer), have a great time together in the New York Zoo, with not a worry in the world. They decide to join a bunch of crazy and extremely resourceful penguins, who plan to break out of the zoo. They find themselves on-board a ship on their way half way across the world to Africa. Loads of fun and a complete family entertainer, this movie is gonna have you in splits right through. - Classic Lines Alex the Lion: Did he just say "Grand Central Station," or "My aunt's constipation"? Cars (2006) The year 2006 saw the levels of creativity and imagination being pushed even further with the animated film Cars. For the first time in animation, an otherwise inanimate object was transformed into a cute lovable central character, in this case, Lightning McQueen (Owen Wilson). McQueen, a famous race car, finds himself repairing the roads of a town called Radiator Springs because of the damage he accidentally caused there while trying to get to his next race. He makes new friends in Mater (Larry the Cable Guy) - a tow truck, Sally Carrera (Bonnie Hunt) - a beautiful car carrera, Doc Hudson (Paul Newman) - the mayor, the judge and the Head Medical Doctor of Radiator Springs, and also an old 3-time Priston Cup Champion, amongst others. The movie and the slick animation make this a real treat to watch. - Classic Lines Lightning McQueen: I'm a precision instrument of speed and aerodynamics. Mater: You hurt your what? WALL-E (2008) WALL-E is a story set in the future, where a small robot with the cutest big eyes falls in love with a robot, EVE on a reconnaissance mission. It is an adorable love story which is sure to melt your heart away. - Classic Lines WALL.E: [showing EVE bubble-wrap and popping a bubble] Pop! [points to EVE] WALL.E: You pop! Kung Fu Panda (2008) Arguably one of the cutest cartoon characters in recent times, Po the Panda (Jack Black) is the unlikely hero in the film. The comic timing right through the movie is impeccable, as Po discovers the Kung Fu legend in him after he is 'accidentally' chosen by Master Oogway (Randall Duk Kim) to be the Dragon Warrior. He saves the city from the evil Tai Lung (Ian McShane) with the help of his heroes, The Furious Five - Tigress (Angelina Jolie), Monkey (Jackie Chan), Mantis (Seth Rogen), Viper (Lucy Liu) and Crane (David Cross). It's a hilarious journey as Po is taught Kung Fu by Master Shifu (Dustin Hoffman) in a very unconventional way. Pure unadulterated entertainment guaranteed! - Classic Lines Tigress: It is said that the Dragon Warrior can go for months without eating, surviving on the dew of a single ginko leaf and the energy of the universe. Po: Then I guess my body doesn't know I'm the Dragon Warrior yet. It's gonna take a lot more than dew, and, uh, universe juice. The Adventures of Tintin (2012) From legendary director Steven Spielberg comes the first animated feature film of the popular children's book series Tintin. It follows the adventures of Tintin (Jamie Bell), who along with his trusty dog Snowy and the once legendary captain Captain Haddock (Andy Serkis), as they set out to uncover the mystery of a sunken ship that belonged to the captain's ancestors. They are helped on their way by the detective twins Thomson (Nick Frost) and Thomson (Simon Pegg). This animated film won critical acclaim for it innovative use of 3D animation, making it seem almost lifelike. - Classic Lines [in a plane] Captain Haddock: You do know what you're doing, right?
