Bow Tie Method To lace shoes using bow tie method, you need to lace the first set of holes horizontally as you would normally. Then take one end of the lace and take it to the next hole on the same side. You need to loop it diagonally upwards after bringing it through the hole. Now bring out the lace from the next hole up on the same side. You can repeat the same process for the other half of the shoe lace. Once all the holes are laced, bring out the ends of shoelaces and tighten the laces with a knot. You will end up with the shoe laces that look just like a bow tie. With Two Laces Add a little zing to your shoes and sneakers by lacing it with two laces. In order to lace the shoes with two laces, you need two different colored laces. One lace should be shorter than the other. Suppose you choose a red and green lace. You need to feed one lace (for example red) from the bottom hole. Then pull up and out of the hole, such that the lace hangs over the visible part of the hole, that is, upside. You need to continue this step for both sides of the shoes and feeding the lace thorough right and left side of the corresponding pairs of holes. The laces should crisscross and be fed under the third set of corresponding holes. Pull out each lace from under the holes and pull it taut. You should keep crisscrossing the laces, till the last two holes at the top of the sneaker. Pull the lace together to remove slack, if any. Once done with the red lace, pick up the green lace and feed it just as you did with the red lace. The green lace should be fed through every other set of holes in the shoes. Now pull both the laces and secure them with a knot, as you would normally do. With Two Colors There are many lacing methods that use double-colored laces. You can use shoelaces that are half one color and half another color. Half and Half Lacing You need a double-colored laces. You can use two half shoelaces of different colors or simply dye half of a normal shoelace with a different color. tie it in a crisscross manner. You need to feed the ends such that they cross each other and emerge through the next set of holes up the shoe. Continue till you reach the last set of holes. Secure the ends with a knot, as you would normally do. Knotted Halves You need to take 2 different colored shoelaces, that are unequal in length. You need to cut both the shoe laces in half and tie one half color and other half color firmly together. You can even use glue to secure the knot. Now run the knotted lace section straight across the bottom. The ends should come out through both the bottom eyelets. Tie the rest of the lace in a normal crisscross lacing method. Once you reach the end, secure with a knot you would use normally. Separate Halves You need to take two different colors shoe laces that are longer than the normal length of shoelaces. This can also be categorized. Cut the shoelaces in half and tie the cut ends of different colored laces together with an overhand knot. You need to feed one half shoelace of each color through the bottom hole, such that the knot remains hidden. Lace the remaining lace ends in the normal crisscross lacing method and once you reach the end, secure the lace with knots as you would normally do. You need to run the lace straight across the bottom and the ends should be fed into the bottom of both the holes. One lace runs straight up the right side and emerges out running straight across the second set of eyelets. Each end runs straight up the left side, skipping one eyelet and emerging two eyelets above the other. Continue till you reach the end and secure the laces with a knot as you would normally do. Zipper You need to run the lace straight across the bottom and emerge through the bottom eyelets. Then loop back the ends under the lace in the region it was fed under the shoe side. Then cross the ends over each other and let them go under. Let the laces emerge out through the next set of holes. Repeat the above-mentioned steps, till you reach the last two top holes. Secure the laces with a knot as you would normally do. Bushwalk This is another way to lace shoes with two laces. You need to run the lace straight across the bottom and let it emerge through both the holes. You will need two laces with different colors to achieve this lacing style. Feed one end of the lace straight up the right side. You need to do this, such that is runs across the second set of holes. You will now have both ends of the lace that are running straight up the left side. Skip one eyelet before feeding it to the two eyelets above. You should continue running across both ends of the shoe and then straight up two holes in one time. Once you reach the top of the shoe, lace the ends up on the same side and secure with a knot you would use normally.
