Step #1: Take 9 tissue paper sheets of 3 different colors. Stack them on top of each other with similar colors together or alternated. Step #2: Fold all the layers together in accordion style leaving 1.5 inches wide. Step #3: Take the chenille stem and gently wrap it around the center of the folded tissue paper. Twist it around just once. Step #4: The 36 inch piece of string will be tied around the chenille stem by placing it under the chenille and secured into a knot. Step #5: Keep wrapping the chenille around the tissue paper till it gets wrapped properly. Step #6: With the scissors, trim the edges of the tissue paper in round or pointed cuts. Step #7: Place the tissue papers on the table and gently separate each layer. Do it one by one so that you don't tear or rip the pom poms. Step #8: Now it is ready to be hung from the ceiling. Always use a thumbtack to hang them. Once your party is over, you can use it to decorate a girl's room. Hang them from the ceiling or near the bedside, they sure will bring a feminine touch to the entire room. You can also use colors according to the holidays or festivals for your celebration. For example:
  • 4th July - Red, White, & Blue
  • St. Patrick's Day - Green
  • Halloween - Orange
  • Christmas - Red and Green
Remember, the width of the tissue papers decide how big or small your pom poms will be. I guess you have got the idea how these beautiful pom poms can be an inexpensive way to decorate just about anything. Try one out for yourself at your next party and catch the expressions on your guests' faces.
