The Holiness of Christ

Guiltless and blamelessly innocent, the purity of Christ is the very nature of God: holy, which means to be separated from sin. Read the following article to understand the reasons and facts surrounding it.

As the first snowflakes of the year fall on a cold outdoors, our thoughts are swept ahead to the greatest time of the year... Christmas, even though it is only the beginning of November. The thing that my thoughts have landed on is the person that this festival is all about: Jesus Christ. Let us take a look at the holiness of the One who gave his life for mankind. Did you know that you can find Bible verses in the Old Testament that talk about him and His holiness. One of them is from the Psalms: "Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope. For Thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt Thou suffer Thine Holy One to see corruption." - Psalms 16:9, 10 We see here how the author of the psalm is exceedingly glad because he has the assurance that he is not going to hell and that God will not let the Holy One to see corruption. The Holy One that David (the author) is talking about in these verses is the Lord Jesus Christ. The best place to start talking about him is the beginning of his life on Earth, as you will see in the next verse: "And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God." - Luke 1:36 The Angel Gabriel, who came and told Mary that she was pregnant, also said that the Child to which she would give birth was going to be a Holy child and that he was going to be the Son of God. It was not just the Angel; his disciples also proclaimed the fact that He was Holy. Take a look at what Paul said about him: "For He hath made Him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him." - II Corinthians 5:21 Take a look at what Peter had to say about our savior: "For the truth against the holy child Jesus whom thou hast anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together, for to do whatsoever thy hand and thy counsel determined before to be done. And now Lord, behold their threatening: and grant thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word, by stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus." - Acts 4:27-30 Not only angels and disciples knew that Jesus was the Holy One of God, the demons knew it as well, as we can see in the Bible: "And there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit; and he cried out, saying Let us alone; what have we to de with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? Art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God." - Mark 1:23, 24 It is strange that when we take a close look at the Bible, we can see the Holiness and the divinity of Christ proclaimed by so many different types of people from all walks of life, and not just people, we find that angels and demons knew about him. They knew where it was that He came from, and they knew who he was and what he was planning to do here on Earth. Thus, regardless of whether you are an ardent believer of his divinity, there is no doubt about its existence and faith towards him.
