Peach Crisp Recipe
Peach crisps can be a perfect dessert, especially during summer, when you get fresh peaches. Go through this article for a peach crisp recipe that can be prepared easily.
- Sliced peaches (peeled and pitted) - 5 cups
- All-purpose flour - 4 tbsp.
- Cooking oatmeal - ½ cup
- Brown sugar, packed - ¾ cup
- Butter - ¼ cup
- Granola sweetened with honey - ½ cup
- Lemon juice - 1 tbsp.
- Nutmeg powder - ½ tsp.
- Cinnamon powder - 1 tsp.
- You have to start with the preparation of the base, that includes the peach slices. Once the base is made, prepare the topping mixture and pour over the base.
- Take a large bowl and mix the ingredients for the base. They include peach slices, one tablespoon of flour (the remaining flour is meant for the topping), ½ cup of sweetened granola, ¼ cup of brown sugar (remaining ½ cup is for topping), and lemon juice. Two tablespoons of whiskey can be added to this mixture, but this ingredient is optional.
- Toss the above said ingredients thoroughly, and arrange the mixture in a greased baking dish. After this, you can prepare the topping mixture with the remaining ingredients.
- Put the remaining ingredients in a medium-sized bowl. The ingredients are ½ cup of oatmeal, ½ cup of brown sugar, three tablespoons of all-purpose flour, half teaspoon of nutmeg powder, and one teaspoon of cinnamon powder. Mix them well. You may use the food processor for mixing them.
- Once done, add the butter. You may also use a pastry blender for mixing the ingredients, except butter. Once the mixing is done, butter can be added. The mixture must be like a coarse meal, once the butter gets blended well. Now, your topping part is also ready.
- You have to spread the topping, over the base that is kept in the greased baking dish. The topping should be spread evenly over the peach slices.
- Place the baking dish inside the oven, which is preheated to 350°F. Another method is to cover the dish with a foil, and bake for around 15 minutes in moderate temperature; then remove the foil for further baking, for around 30 to 40 minutes.
