Making RC Planes out of Cardboard An RC cardboard plane happens to be very sturdy in appearance and still isn't so difficult to build. • Chipboard
• Pen/Pencil
• Straight-edged Ruler
• Craft Blade
• Paper Clips
• Scissors
• Craft Glue

Method Step #1: This is the first step in learning to make an RC plane and all you have to do is draw the outline of the plane's body. Draw a 12'' long airplane body on the chipboard. Step #2: Next step is to draw a triangle to make the wings of the plane. Draw about 10½'' long shape on the cardboard. Step #3: Using scissors cut out both the shapes of the wings and body of the airplane and keep them aside. Step #4: Now, place a straight-edged ruler at about a ¾'' away from the bottom and by the body of the RC aircraft. Now pull a straight line measuring 10¼'' long across the cardboard. Once the layout is planned, set the aircraft's body onto another piece of chipboard. Use a craft blade and straight-edged ruler and cut through the line on the cardboard. Step #5: Next place the wing part on the chipboard and cut a tiny notch at the back of the wing. The measurement for the same has to be ¾'' away from the edge. Also, cut another notch away from the center line. Let it measure ½''. Turn the cardboard and score the lengths of both the ailerons of the wing. Notches help create ailerons of the plane, which controls the total maneuvering of the plane. This procedure must be repeated for the other side of the wing as well. Step #6: Now pull a line at the center of the wing piece, place your ruler along the line and using a craft blade score along the line. Make sure you do not cut through the cardboard. Step #7: Hope all the steps discussed above are clear up to this stage. Next, bend the wing part at the center and arrange the wings at an alignment of 25-degree angle. Once you finish doing that, notch 1/8'' in both the back and front wing's center. Step #8: Very neatly and swiftly, slip in the wing piece in the main slit of the aircraft's body segment. While inserting make a note that the notches present at the back and the tip cling the wings in its place. Once you are done, gently bend the ailerons to a 45 degree angle. Step #9: Now comes the gluing time! The body and the wings of the plane must be taped at the bottom segment. Along the wing at the point of intersection with the body segment, apply some glue to stick the pieces. Step #10: This happens to be the final step of your RC plane. Herein, you have to simply attach a few paper clips to the nose of the aircraft and check for its flying status. If it flies well, you have done an excellent job then!
