How to Make Mashed Potatoes
Mashed potatoes make a wonderful side dish. But it won't do much good if they don't come out perfect. Learn to make creamy mashed potatoes with the recipes mentioned in the following article.
- Yukon Gold Potatoes, 1½ lbs
- Salt, ½ teaspoon
- Cream, 4 tablespoons
- Butter, 2 tablespoons
- Milk, 1 tablespoon
- Salt and Black Pepper, as per taste
- Peel the potatoes and cut into small, square pieces.
- Put them in a saucepan, add ½ teaspoon of salt, and submerge in water.
- Bring the water to a boil, reduce the heat, place a cover, and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes.
- Meanwhile, on low heat, add cream and butter into a pan. The butter needs to melt completely.
- Drain water from potatoes and place them in a bowl, and mash them.
- Add the melted butter and cream mixture to the potatoes and keep mashing the potatoes until all the ingredients have combined properly.
- Do a taste test, and add salt and pepper, if needed, before serving.

- Hot Milk, ¼ cup
- Minced Garlic Cloves, 2
- Butter, 2 tablespoons

- Clean the potatoes and peel them. Make small, square pieces, add them into a pot, and submerge in water with a little bit of salt.
- Cover the pot and let them cook for 15 minutes, or till they can pierce easily with a fork.
- Once they are done, drain the potatoes and mash them.
- In a different bowl, combine hot milk, butter, black pepper together. The butter should melt completely before you add it with the potatoes.
- Keep adding the milk-butter mixture little by little and combine all the ingredients together.
- Do a taste to see if you need to add more salt and pepper to the potatoes.
