How to Get Well-defined Cheekbones with Makeup

Chiseled, high cheekbones are every woman's dream. This Buzzle article shows you how to get well-defined cheekbones with makeup. Flaunt them, in style.

Quick Tip
Use a blush to highlight your cheekbones. Cream blushes are the best ones as they blend in very easily as compared to powder or gel blushes. And they give your face a natural look.
High, well-defined cheekbones make a woman look gorgeous and sexy, and give the face a strong, defined look. So what if you don't have the cheekbones of Angelina Jolie or Keira Knightley? You can very well get them with some simple makeup tricks. The trick is to use a highlighter and a bronzer. Using a highlighter will make the cheekbones more prominent. A bronzer will further highlight them and contour the face. Applying a blush will help define the cheekbones; choose its color depending on your skin tone. Also, the use of a shimmer will serve the same purpose. Here's your guide to enhance your cheekbones using makeup in five easy steps. Don't forget to cleanse and moisturize your face before putting it on.

Get Started
Step 1
Wash and cleanse your face thoroughly, and apply your regular moisturizer. Now apply foundation. Blend in well with a sponge, for a natural, flawless look.
Step 2
In order to accentuate your cheekbones, we'll be using a bronzer and a highlighter. Observe the image above to understand where to apply them. On the lighter swatch, apply the highlighter and apply bronzer on the darker one.
Step 3
Wait for 10 minutes for the foundation to set, then apply the highlighter to the upper part of your cheek. Highlighters diffuse light to brighten your skin. Use a thick-angled brush to apply it. You can use MAC Large Angled Contour Brush or Sephora Pro Angled Contour Brush. You can use a liquid or powder highlighter. A shimmery eyeshadow or blush can also be used. NARS or MAC has really good highlighters that you may like to use.
Step 4
Suck in your cheeks. You will see a crease forming from your cheeks to your ear. This is where you will create depth. Apply a stroke of bronzer across your chin on this line. This will help enhance your cheekbones. The bronzer should be a shade or two darker than your skin tone. You can use liquid or powder bronzer. A foundation darker than your skin tone can also be used to create depth. Use Bobbi Brown or MAC bronzer for the best results.
Step 5
Blend in your highlighter and bronzer well. Apply blush to the apple of your cheeks. Don't overdo, as it will spoil the entire look. You can choose from pink or coral blush. Cream blushes are the best option as they blend in really well, but you can also use a powder blush. Here again you can use MAC blushes because they are simply awesome. Finish the makeup with some loose-setting powder. Simple and fabulous, right?
Pointers
The main aim is to give your face a chiseled look and a slimming effect. This can be achieved with the use of a bronzer or highlighter. Using too much of any product may not look very appealing or natural. Don't use an excessively shimmery highlighter as it won't merge properly with the bronzer.
