How to Fall Out of Love

Hurt and battered, tears come streaming down your face. Love turns to hate and you don't know what to do. Here's how to mend a broken heart and get over the love that is no longer yours.

It's when the time of your life sings to the tune of... When you try your best, but you don't succeed When you get what you want, but not what you need When you feel so tired, but you can't sleep Stuck in reverse And the tears come streaming down your face When you lose something you can't replace When you love someone, but it goes to waste Could it be worse? Lights will guide you home And ignite your bones And I will try to fix you And high up above or down below When you're too in love to let it go But if you never try you'll never know Just what you're worth Lights will guide you home And ignite your bones And I will try to fix you... The movies you watched, the places you went to, the sunsets you saw, his old sweater, the touch of his hand, a crazy monsoon afternoon, the best romantic date ever, his friends, and just about everything you did together is painfully unforgettable. He was your best friend and now your ex and sadly your coworker too. Well...if you could fall in love, you can very well fall out of it too. It's heart rending to even look for an answer, but, you've got to do, what you've got to do. Tame Your Thoughts It's better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all. So, you can't let someone who loved you bring you down. Just stop thinking about him. Bury all those thoughts about life together, picturesque future, and idyllic weekends. That ain't happening, so why roll in wallows of the same. You will miss him with your every waking thought. You will miss him with every breathing moment and you will miss him like there's no tomorrow. This is the time you call your long-lost girlfriends and hit the road for an incredible night out. This is absolutely the thing you do with friends to divert your mind and indulge in some fun. Friends Are Forever With the demise of your relationship, you are given an opportunity to make new ties. Often, when you are romantically involved with someone, you lose out on a plenty of precious friends. But, friends will always be a call away. Meet up with your old friends and make some new friends. Socialize as much as possible, for that's the only way to move on. With time, your thoughts will get distracted, the wounds will be healed, and you'll know what it means to 'wear your scars as medals'. So, when the going gets tough and you can't call him, your friends will be with you, forever and always. Anchor Yourself Spirituality vs religion, is a debate, older than the mountains and the deep blue oceans. Anyway, who cares? Pick your favorite and anchor yourself, in a system of beliefs, that will guide you in your tumultuous times. It may sound a little cliched, but the old path of salvation, sure is the way. If you can call upon God in the toughest situations, then why not make it a regular habit? Connect with your spiritual side and awaken the power within you, with meditation and channelized efforts. Fall In Love Fall in love with yourself all over again. Stop brooding and pondering over why he left. He has left you, and that's the reality. So what if you weren't important for him. Get yourself a makeover, go shopping, indulge in beauty treatments, lose weight, get in shape, and develop a positive attitude. Boundless, unfathomable, unassailable love for yourself, will make you forget him forever and ever. Your best friend, is the person whom you can confide in, trust, bank on and most importantly love. But, if your best friend cannot be in love with you, then friendship is the next best thing to love. Treasure the equation you share and let the rest go, for good. Finally, I would put falling out of love as a way to thank the person who showed you what love is, made you vulnerable, and is now giving you a chance to prove your strength. Thus, at the end of this sinusoidal wave, there will be a happy start, once again. Love, actually!
