Homemade Wedding Card Box

Using a homemade wedding card box can greatly cut down your wedding expenses. How so? Read this article to find out.

Treasure Chest You'll need some thermocol, cardboard, ribbons, glue gun, beads, sequins, scissors, embroidered fabric, lace, pins, etc. Co-ordinate all the materials according to the theme that you have selected for the wedding. For this idea, you can make a box out of thermocol, with its top open. After you make the base of the box, use a glue gun to glue on the embroidered fabric onto the base. Decorate it using the beads and ribbons. While it dries, take the cardboard and make the top of the treasure chest with it. Again, use the glue gun to stick the fabric on to the cardboard. Then on the edges, stick on the lace. Stick beads or sequins, if you wish. Once that is done, use a sharp paper cutter, or a scissor, to make a slit in the top. The slit should be big enough to let an average-size card drop into the treasure chest. Bird Cage Another idea is that of a bird cage. You don't really have to make the bird cage. Just run down to the nearest pet shop, and pick up the biggest bird cage that you can find. On the way, pick up spray paints and ribbons, matching the wedding color scheme, from the stationer. Get home and begin spray-painting the frame of the cage. Go with a single color, or go with more than one color. After the paint dries, get the ribbons out, and tie one up into a huge pretty bow at the head of the cage. You can also make small bows with the ribbons, and stick them on alternate bars of the cage. Keep the door open of the cage when you place the cage/wedding card box on the table. Picture Collage For this idea, you need lots of pictures of you and your partner. Make a box using just wooden frames and translucent paper, instead of cardboard. Butter paper works great! On the four sides of the box, you can stick the pictures of you and your partner in such a way that when viewed from any angle, the photos are clearly visible. If it's an evening wedding, and it's bound to get dark by the time the guests place the cards in the box, you can have a series of small light bulbs stuck on to the frame, so that the photographs are seen. So, what do you think now? Weren't those some easy ideas for a homemade wedding card box? So rush out and get all the supplies you need for this project. It can be very useful and a great money saver for you!
