All you need are the necessary items, a step-by-step guide, and a few recipes to help things move along. Gather All the Essential Items Remember that while giving yourself a facial at home, you need to keep all the required things organized before you begin. This way, you won't have interrupt your session and go look for the items. Clean towels You need soft, clean towels to gently pat your skin dry after every step in the facial. Keep some clean towels near you while you begin the facial. Cotton balls While removing the scrub and applying the mask, it is better to use cotton balls that won't feel harsh on your skin. Fresh and clean water You will need water to clean off the scrub and mask. Keep plenty of lukewarm water at hand while preparing for the facial. Cleansing lotion You can use your cleansing lotion or prepare a mixture of 2 tbsp. of yogurt and 1½ tbsp. lemon juice. Skin-toner Rose water is a very effective toner. Steamer Steaming your face opens up the pores and helps to clear the dust and dirt in the pore. In case you don't have one at home, just boil some water in a pot and use that to get the job done. Keep in mind that you need follow each and every step (please, don't skip any of these steps). 1. Cleansing First of all, clean your face by splashing lukewarm water; pat it dry. Face Mask Apply a facial mask on your face, neck, and shoulders with an application brush or your fingertips. Place cucumber slices on your eyelids and rest for 10 - 15 minutes, or until the mask is completely dry. 4. Toning Clean your face, neck, and shoulders with cool water. If need be, use cotton balls to remove the mask completely. Soak a clean cotton ball in rose water and wipe the areas you had applied the mask on properly. 5. Moisturizing Gently massage a good quality moisturizer that suits your skin type all over your face, neck, and shoulders. Keep on massaging for at least 4 to 6 minutes, and add more quantity of moisturizer if needed. Once you're done, remove excess moisturizer with a few clean cotton balls. Refreshing Honey Lemon Mask
Ingredients
  • Yogurt, fresh, 1 cup
  • Chickpea flour, ⅓ cup
  • Honey, 2 tbsp.
  • Glycerin, 2 tbsp.
  • Lemon juice, ½ tbsp.
Benefits: The lemon juice and honey cleanse your skin, and the glycerin and yogurt moisturize to refresh your skin.
Preparation: Whisk honey, yogurt, and glycerin together to form a smooth mixture. Add the flour and whisk again until you have a thick paste. Application: Apply the paste on your face, neck, shoulders, and hands. Keep it on for fifteen minutes and rinse with cool water.
Anti-tan Tomato Facial
Ingredients
  • Oatmeal powder, 1 cup
  • Yogurt, fresh, 2 tbsp.
  • Cucumber juice, 1 tbsp.
  • Tomato juice, 1
  • Mint leaves, ¾

  • Turmeric powder, ½ tbsp.
Benefits: The sandalwood and turmeric powder improve your complexion while the milk and rose water moisturize it to keep it glowing and fresh.
Preparation: In a bowl, combine all the ingredients one by one to prepare a smooth paste. Application: Apply the paste on your face, neck, and shoulders, and leave it on for 15 - 20 minutes, or until the mask is completely dry. Rinse it off with cool water and pat dry.
