Heat Diffuser: Types and Uses

A heat diffuser is used to reduce the heat to the lowest level, supplying an equally distributed temperature to the base of a cooking utensil. Thus, it plays a vital role in preventing food from being burned or from being cooked unequally.

Another type has two sheets of metal bound close to each other. Instead of perforations, they are bound with some slats and porcelain coats. Some people have a personal choice of cast ironing their diffusers. Some say that cast iron stabilizes the utensil and evenly distributes heat from the gas stove. However, others opine that it is not ideal since it can ruin an entire glass cook-top and damage the stove's life. Most of such diffusers have a wooden handle attached to the equipment. Of course, a handle's purpose is to provide a firm hold and comfortable movement around the stove. However, some instruments have a plain dish type look, with the handle missing.
Uses
When you cook specific dishes like soup or rice in ordinary utensils, they need to be simmered on an awfully low heat. In many cases, long before the food gets completely cooked, the stoves low down on heat, and entirely switch off. These things get very troublesome. In such cases, a heat diffuser can save you from a bunch of calamities in your kitchen. Available in various shapes, sizes, and qualities, it is a good substitute for all those who do not have ovens in their homes. Chemistry: A common place where students deal with stoves is a chemistry lab. They engage in a lot of chemical experiments and projects, by constantly using temperature-related instruments. To keep the heat constant on such instruments, a diffuser can be used. Cooking: As we have already seen, diffusers can be of great help in the kitchen. Since you can easily and evenly control the heat while preparing a dish of your choice, you don't have to worry about the food getting burned anymore. Automobiles: It goes without saying, that the only fired up part in an automobile is the engine. Of all the different ways to keep the engine cool, one of them is a diffuser; indeed, one part of the engine's radiator is a heat diffuser. It definitely keeps the automobile's temperature in a sound range. With so many areas of application, we can say that a heat diffuser was one of the best discoveries!
