Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Mashed potatoes are an all time favorite dish for many people. They are prepared in various ways by different people. Here are recipes that involves the use of garlic in mashed potatoes.

The combination of mashed potatoes and garlic is delicious. Garlic, with its pungent flavor and the blandness of mashed potato, along with its smooth texture makes this dish, delicious and satiating. You can also add cheese, bacon, herbs like chives or parsley, onions, etc. to add more flavor to the dish. Using garlic creates a warm, delicious aroma that is irresistible. Plain Garlic Mashed Potatoes
  • 1½ lb Yukon Gold potato
  • 1 garlic head (whole with skin)
  • 1 teaspoon, olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons, milk
  • 1 tablespoon, butter (unsalted)
  • Salt
  • Pepper
Begin by preheating the oven to 450 ºF. Slice off the head of the garlic, exposing the cloves, and rub the whole garlic with the olive oil, pepper, and salt. Then, wrap the garlic in foil and roast until tender. Heat some water in a saucepan, and peel the potato and cut them into small pieces. Put the pieces into the saucepan, and let it come to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer, until the potatoes become tender. Then, drain all the water, and peel them. Add the butter, milk, and 2-3 of the roasted garlic cloves. Use a potato masher to mash well until smooth; add some pepper and salt for seasoning. Serve hot. Creamy Mashed Potatoes with Garlic Salt
  • 10 potatoes
  • 1 teaspoon, garlic salt
  • ½ packet, cream cheese
  • ½ stick of butter
Preheat the oven to 300 ºF. Peel, chop, and cook the potatoes in boiling water until tender. Peel them and mash thoroughly. Add the cream cheese, butter, and garlic salt to it and blend well. Put the mixture into a baking dish and bake for about 45 minutes. Cheesy Garlic Mashed Potatoes
  • 3 lbs potatoes (Yukon Gold)
  • 1 cup, mozzarella cheese (grated)
  • 3-4 tablespoons, milk
  • 5 garlic cloves
  • 1 egg
  • Olive oil

Rub olive oil on the garlic and bake for about 15 minutes at 350 ºF. Peel the potatoes and boil them for about 25 minutes, or until tender. Drain out the water thoroughly. Then, add the milk and mash it thoroughly. Next, squeeze the garlic out from their skin, and add it to the mash. Add the cheese and egg, and blend thoroughly. Lastly, add the pepper and salt.   • 5-6 potatoes
  • ½ jar, bacon bits
  • Garlic powder
  • Milk
  • 2-4 tablespoons, butter
  • Salt
  • Pepper
Peel the potatoes and cook them in boiling water until tender. Then, draining out the water and mash the potatoes. Add the butter, garlic salt, and some milk, and blend well. Then, add the bacon, pepper, and salt and mix thoroughly. Serve hot. Garlic Mashed Potatoes with Mustard Oil
  • 5-6 potatoes
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1 tablespoon, mustard oil
  • 1 green chili (chopped)
  • a few sprigs coriander leaves
  • salt
Boil water in a saucepan, and put the potatoes in it with their skin. Cook until the potatoes become soft. Drain out the hot water and peel their skin off. Then mash the potatoes and keep it aside. Mash the raw garlic and add it to the mixture along with the mustard oil, chopped green chilies, coriander, and salt, and mix well. Serve it hot.
