Faithfulness

To be faithful is not an easily found feature in people's lives today. However, God's love towards us will never change. God has and will always keep all his promises, and we should also keep ours.

Faithful is a word that is just thrown about in our society today. A lot of times it is used when talking about the relationship between a man and a woman. You know then she was not faithful to him, or he was not to her; it is one factor that plays a vital role in sustenance of a relationship. Although not used much in context to religion or God, it holds a lot of significance here, too. Being faithful is something that is not always easy to be, and it is even harder to find another one. But, what does it mean to be one? Well, the Holy Bible provides us with answers to it. "Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath set over his household, to give them their food at the right time?" - Matthew 24:45 Here, we can see that we are given one very important clue, but it is in the form of a question. One definition of a faithful person is somebody that is in the Lord's service; that means serving the Lord, not sitting around and going to church once or twice on Sunday. A faithful servant of the Lord will get him/her involved in the Lord's service, and do something for him. "Dear friend, you are faithful in what you are doing for the brothers, even though they are strangers to you." - 3 John 1.5 Here, we can see again a clue that is emphasizing: help others. We need to stop going through life being selfish. Humanity is the way to show the love of God. Telling a person about Jesus, when you go out and help others, you don't just go and help all your brothers and sisters in Christ; you need to help the people who are strangers to you, as well. Maybe, through our good deeds and the love and grace of God, we will get the opportunity to tell that person about Christ. What if that person accept him after that? To know that the simple act of helping another human being in need opened up the door for that person to be saved. "He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least in unjust also in much. If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches? And if ye hath not been faithful in that which is another's, who will give you that which is your own?" - Luke 16:10-12 Here we can see another aspect; it is called being faithful in the smallest things. As we go through life, we will be provided chances to show our trustworthiness in little things, insignificant things, as the aforementioned Scripture clearly states. "Your faithfulness continues throughout all generations; You established the earth, and it stands." - Psalm 119:90 "Nevertheless, my loving kindness will I not utterly take from him, not suffer my faithfulness to fail." - Psalms 89:33 God's love is unfailing and lasts forever. He will never leave us or forsake us, and he only wants what is best for us and our lives. We could at least try to live life his way.
