This was just a glimpse of how a whole lot of different species are being threatened by extinction. A complete list of all endangered species is a scary testimony to all the destruction that have been meted out by man to Earth's wildlife and biosphere! If you take a careful look at the above lists, you'll see a creepy pattern - some or the other species of tiger or monkey is there in almost every endangered species list! In fact, the mangrove forests of Southeast Asia, which used to literally crawl with the yellow-and-black striped tigers, are not witnesses to the rapid decline in population of these majestic big cats. Same is the case with the rarer white tigers who are literally looking extinction in the eye if their rapidly dwindling numbers are anything to go by! Endangered simians such as the Proboscis Monkey, various species of Howler Monkey and the Brown Spider Monkey are also being threatened by extinction. It's not too late yet - the damage done till date may not be completely reversible but further damage can definitely be arrested if thoughtful and emergency measures are taken to preserve what we still have left! Pushing animal species towards extinction is the worst violation of animal rights. We have no authority, whatsoever, to decide which creatures get to live and which get to leave!
