According to me, the best part about baked spaghetti is that it often does not go wrong. It can be enjoyed by vegetarians, vegans and non vegetarians. Also the dish does not become monotonous with the various options one can combine it with. Without any more talk on spaghetti, we will turn to some interesting recipes. Baked Spaghetti with Beef and Eggs Ingredients
  • 1 package spaghetti
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion
  • 26 ounce meatless spaghetti sauce
  • 2 eggs
  • ⅓ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups cottage cheese
  • 4 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 5 tablespoons butter
  • ½ teaspoon seasoned salt
Method
  • Cook the spaghetti as per the instructions.
  • While the spaghetti cooks, sauté onions and beef over medium-low heat till the meat is cooked properly.
  • Once the meat is cooked, add spaghetti sauce along with salt, and let the mixture simmer for a few minutes.
  • In a bowl, whisk eggs properly and add Parmesan cheese and butter to it.
  • Drain spaghetti and add it with the cheese-eggs mixture, and toss to coat properly.
  • Grease a baking dish and layer it with half the quantity of spaghetti, cottage cheese, meat sauce, and mozzarella cheese.
  • Repeat the layers and bake covered at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 to 40 minutes.
  • Let the spaghetti bake uncovered for 10 to 15 minutes, or till the cheese melts.
Whole Wheat Baked Spaghetti with Spinach and Tofu Ingredients
  • 8 ounces whole wheat spaghetti
  • 1 onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 cups tomato sauce
  • ½ cup grated mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • 12 ounces tofu
  • 10 ounce chopped spinach
  • ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
Method
  • Sauté chopped onion and minced garlic in olive oil for 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Now add tomato sauce along with oregano and chopped parsley.
  • Cover the pan and let it simmer for 10 to 12 minutes.
  • While the sauce simmers, cook spaghetti as per the instructions on the package.
  • In a mixing bowl, mash tofu and add chopped spinach, pepper, salt, and nutmeg, and combine the mixture properly.
  • Once spaghetti cooks, combine it with the tofu mixture.
  • Grease a baking dish and place one quarter of sauce at the bottom, then a layer of spinach mixture, and at the top, spaghetti.
  • Continue to layer the dish and top it off with the sauce.
  • Add a layer of grated mozzarella cheese and bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
