Dinner Party Invitation Wording

Just like every other aspect of your dinner party, the invitations too need to be perfect. That can happen only when your invite has the appropriate wording. This article will give you some examples, and also a guide on how you can draft a good one yourself.

"Planning a dinner party in a way that you're actually capable of getting it done without panicking is important. It's bad hospitality for the host to be freaked out."
― Ted Allen
Whatever be the form of party that you are hosting, be it a formal or informal one, there are certain things that have to be common to the invites. These include the host of the party, the venue, the occasion, and the date and time. You can also mention the theme of the party and also announce the dress code of the party, if any. At the end of the invitation, it is also important to keep a slot for an RSVP so that the guest can confirm whether they are actually coming for the dinner party and also clear some other doubts that they have in their mind about the party. Do not forget to mention the proper contact details for the guests to send their replies to. Formal Dinner Party Invitation Wording

Invitation Wording Etiquette If you are organizing a formal party, the invitations should be sent to the guests at least 2 - 3 months before the party. On the other hand, if the party is an informal or a casual one, it will be fine to send the invitation cards, 2 - 3 weeks before the party. Many people have adopted the latest trend of inviting their guests by sending an invitation through email and sometimes through telephone too. However, this has to be strictly avoided, in case of formal dinner parties. The wording for formal parties should be formal and it is also important to spell out the date and time, rather than just writing them in the form of numbers. For instance, instead of writing, '6.00', it is necessary to write 'six o'clock' in the evening. The same goes with the date where one has to write 'the twenty first of February' rather than Feb 21. However, with informal and casual invitation wordings, there is no need to follow any strict guidelines. One can also use abbreviations for words which is completely denied in case of formal invitation wordings. It is also fine to pen the invitation wordings on your own. If it is a casual party, it will be really great to make some creative wordings. Your invitation wordings should be something that will create the mood of the party among the guests much before the actual party.
